Thirty eight person got injured while nine others lost their lives in a road accident at Lamberi in Rajouri after which district administration took all the necessary steps to facilitate the victims.
Accident took place at Lamberi on Jammu Rajouri highway after a bus Bearing registration No. JK02-AL-1361 on the way to Jammu from Surankote plunged in roadside gorge at Lamberi.Soon after receiving the information of accidents, a large number of locals rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation who were joined by police teams.Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Sukhdev Singh Sambyal rushed to the Sub-District Hospital Sunderbani.In order to facilitate to patients and their relatives at GMC Jammu the District Administration has deputed Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani Vinod Kumar Behnal to GMC Jammu to avoid any inconveniences.The entire machinery of health department was also put on alert and ambulances were also pressed into action.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Nazir Sheikh who visited Sub District Hospital Sunderbani reviewed the healthcare services being provided to the victims, where he also interacted with the injured persons at SDH Sunderbani. He added that six people died on the spot, one in Sunderbani hospital and two other during referral to Jammu with total toll in the accident is nine.
While speaking to media persons,Deputy Commissioner informed that four critically injured referred were airlifted to Jammu after air-lifting call was issued by district administration with higher authorities. Alongside, 25 other injured were also referred to Jammu via road.
He also said District administration has sanctioned immediate ex-gratia of one lakh rupees to the legal heirs of the deceased, twenty five thousands to those critically injured and five thousands to those who are having minor injuries.
